Company: California Bonzing Co.
Model: STIJL Longboard
Length: 34”
Width: 8.5”
Wheel Base: 24”
Best used for: Cruising • Carving • Pushing
The STIJL is a great little cruising board. It has a slight convex shape, which makes it very comfortable for pushing and really leaning into turns. The board has a a very minimal yet snappy flex, great for big carves and pumping. I have not had very much experience with boards with convex, so it was great fun to try one. Dancing on the board was surprisingly easy. My first thought was that the convex would be difficult to shift your weight and lean on, but it was actually pretty easy and effortless, especially for a shorter board.
STIJL is Dutch for style and the artwork on the board is inspired by the dutch art movment “De Stijl” which translates to “The Style.” The graphic on this board is really simplistic yet still extremely attractive. Austin Graziano talks about his artwork, “When I first saw the Piet Mondrian collection in person it hit me. The simple lines, bold colors and clean look pulled me in. Piet Mondrian was a leader in the “De Stijl” art movement and the art work on the board reflects his array of artwork from the beginning of his life to the end of his days.” Personally the graphic reminds me of some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s artwork.
If you are searching for a great short cruising board, that can also conquer the steep hills of San Francisco - definitely look into the STIJL by California Bonzing Co.
